Special Event Comes to Fordham University’s McGinley Center Ballroom

120 Wooster Street

Join us October 20th from 6:30 to 11:00 pm in the ballroom on the second floor of the McGinley Center at Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus.

Featuring a musical performance by The Dale Fielder Quintet, Frederick J. Brown’s art work on display, and a presentation by Felipe Luciano, this special evening is not to be missed. It is presented in cooperation with the Bronx African American History Project and celebrates the life and career of pioneering SoHo artist Frederick J. Brown.

The event is free and open to the public and includes a reception.

Frederick J. Brown prints and posters will be available for sale, with a portion of proceeds contributed to Fordham’s Bronx African-American History Project.

Healing Spirits: Frederick J. Brown

Special Event at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri

On October 4th, the Center for the Healing Arts at the Truman Medical Center hosted an Art Talk and Happy Hour in honor of the recent donation of early watercolors on paper by the Frederick J. Brown Trust. The Healing Arts Talk was presented by Megan Bowman-Brown with an introduction by Truman Medical Center Curator, Faith Hensley. The event was organized by the Truman Medical Center Charitable Foundation.

A brief slide show about Frederick J. Brown’s series of musicians highlighting his portrait of Ella Fitzgerald introduced the Musical Instrument Museum’s Musical Icon program honoring Black History Month in February.
